Wearable art update

January 17, 2010

I finally heard back from the folks that are organizing the Port Moody Wearable Art Show. Apparently my submission was “lost” in their mail and that’s why I hadn’t heard back earlier. I’m glad they found it, I had a few weeks of angst, thinking they didn’t like my art. So I’m taking the kimono over tomorrow.

I’m not sure why I did this, but I also asked if I could submit another design even though their deadline was passed, and they said yes. They were probably feeling guilty for losing my submission. As a result, I’ve been frantically working all week to make a dress from ATCs. It was an idea that I had that didn’t get off the ground in time for the December deadline – too many things going on leading up to Christmas. I had made the decision to let it go, but it just wouldn’t leave and it kept floating around in my head. As it has an Olympic theme, I can’t really save it for another year. Anyway, it’s done. I think it’s done, and I’ll be taking that over tomorrow too.

I have a bunch of other things in the works too, so this is turning out to be a really busy time for me too. It’s a good thing too as I usually start to get a bit down at this time of year, just before my birthday, but this year, I haven’t had time to give it any thought at all.

I love this concept, and I’m intrigued by your blog. Can’t wait to hear more.
